A sixteen year old and two fifteen year old girls died in a car accident as they fled from a police officer in a stolen car. Dominique Battle, Ashanti Butler and Laniya Miller lost control during the chase and landed in a cemetery pond last month where they drowned on March 31st.
Raw Story released a dash cam video which appears to show that the cops stood by in the video and made no attempt to save the children. They claimed they dropped their gun belts and waded into the water to try to save the girls.
In the video, however, the police are standing by. They can be heard saying “they’re done. They are 6-7 dude”, “they were yelling, I think heard yelling”, and “but now they’re done, they’re done.”
The county sheriff of Penellas County where this tragic event took place gave a detailed report during a press conference, detailing the history of the three teens and their car theft habits. “Deputies wading out into the water were just sinking (into the muck) and couldn’t get to the car”, he said.
“Once the car filled up with water, it went down pretty quickly. There was nothing deputies could do. As thick as that muck is in the pond, it is almost like a carpet. The doors were closed, the windows were up and unfortunately it just became a death chamber. They drowned, they just couldn’t get out.”
With no evidence on the dash cam that the police made any attempt to save the girls, this story is clearly in question. Regardless of a criminal history, these girls were nothing but misguided children and there should have been every attempt to save them.

The police are not obligated to risk their lives. It’s a shame these up and coming automotive engineers were taken from the productive world so early in life, but that can happen when you CHOOSE a life of CRIME. Somehow they had 7 vehicle theft arrests between the three of them, so the “system” let them down by letting them out of jail before they learned their lesson. There you go, perfect leftist defense.
